On July 29th 2010 Kate Lines from Garden Records and Tom Lehar from Summit Sound Lounge have gathered resources and put on the first annual Mariner’s Music Festival in Prince Rupert. It started at 4 pm with a performance by Glenn, Jared and Katie followed by Joshua Comeau, Tom and Kate with Peter Jackson and Christina Soto, Kimberly Truong with Brian Miller, Joe Marvici, Ronnie Ray Jenkins, Frances and Sarah, Sall Gibson, Patty and Jewel of the Mermaid Cafe, and Jim Demings closed the night at 9 pm. It was a great start for the festival showcasing Prince Rupert’s musicians and songwriters and the support from the community was greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone,

There has been talk about another compilation disc showcasing rock bands of Prince Rupert. I think it’s a fantastic idea! We have learned a lot from the Rupert Songs album and soon the expenses of that album will be paid off. That means that funds will find their way to the musicians and artists. All we have to do is keep promoting the album – not only in Rupert!

There is a lot of great talent in town, so let’s let everyone know!

The studio now has a professional tube recording preamplifier/compressor and DI – the TL Audio C-1. I just used the compressor with some mixes that I have kicking around, and holy smokes!! Hey everyone!

The release party was awesome! Everything went smoothly thanks to all the help. We heard that parking got scarse and we estimate about 450 people showed up for the event. All the prizes were given out and well received. Matt Olsen prepared fantastic food! Thanks very much Rupert!

The January 31st open mic is cancelled due to the unfortunate closing of Peg Leg’s. I am talking with Jud at Cowpuccino’s to set up there. The next open mic will be March 28th at Cowpuccino’s from 4pm to 6pm. I hope that works for everyone! And this time I’ll bring my book to save myself from some embarrassment:-)

They have awesome package deals on a variety of DVD and CD copying and manufacturing services and they have in-house mastering available too. Hi all, for those who have been following this project, recording is done and mixing is also complete. We sent out the disc for mastering in the beginning of the month. Apparently all fifteen tunes were mastered within five hours. I’m going to take that as a compliment!

The artwork is being done as well and we expect to have the packaged product in hand within the first two weeks of January. What a way to kick off 2010! The CD release party will be on Saturday, January 23rd! We’ll post the details here soon!

DECEMBER 27th!!!!!!!!! It has been confirmed! December 27th at 2pm until 5pm I will host an open mic at Peg Leg’s. Come enjoy a break from the holiday stress and come early because it is a first come first serve basis! Everyone will get a chance to play three tunes and if there’s time after it’s all done encores will be happening… Hope to see you there!!!
